On Saturday night (July 4), the reigning Queen of Pop paid her respects to the late King of Pop with a musical tribute.
Performing at the 02 Arena in London, where Michael Jackson was set to stage his This Is It series of concerts beginning Monday, July 13, as Madonna sang her hit song “Holiday” during her Sticky and Sweet tour, a Jackson impersonator took to the stage, sporting a sequin-embellished jacket, white glove, white socks, and a white T-shirt, as an image of a young Jackson was projected in the background.
The impersonator then moonwalked to Michael's smash “Wanna Be Startin' Somethin'.”
After Madonna shouted, “Let's give it up for one of the greatest artists the world has ever known, Michael Jackson. Long live the king!” She and her dancers donned jeweled gloves on their right hands to honor Jackson in their last dance.
